& Stories — a slow cabinetmaking studio in the cotswolds —

"Every cabinet we make begins with a cup of tea, a sketchbook, and a story your home wants to tell. We paint by hand, plant herbs in the offcuts, and leave a tiny pressed flower in every drawer."

Our handmade crafts

Sweet little storied pieces

Four ways we shape your home — each one drawn over tea, painted in our garden studio, and brought to your kitchen on the back of our old Land Rover.

№ 01

Cottage Kitchens

— full-kitchen storied makes —

Whole kitchens drawn from the warmth of memory — open shelving, pot rails, a butcher's block by the window where the morning light pools. Every door painted by hand.

  • Reclaimed pine & solid oak fronts
  • Hand-painted in milk-paint colours
  • Hand-forged ceramic & brass pulls
  • Made-in-cottage installation
№ 02

Painted Cabinetry

— small treasures, big stories —

Linen presses, china hutches, bedside chests — the quiet pieces that anchor a home. We paint in heritage colours and lightly distress for that loved-already feeling.

  • Sage, rose, sky-blue, butter palettes
  • Hand-distressed authentic patina
  • Ceramic floral knob options
  • Each piece signed inside the door
№ 03

Open Shelving

— for cookbooks & stories —

Pretty shelves that hold the things you love — your grandmother's blue china, the herbs from the garden, the recipe book your father annotated decades ago.

  • Live-edge & planed-smooth options
  • Hand-stencilled scallop edges
  • Iron bracket or hidden mounting
  • Custom lengths to fit your wall
№ 04

Fairy-tale Wardrobes

— for the dreamers & little ones —

Built-in and freestanding wardrobes drawn for children's rooms and the dreamers in all of us. Carved trim, hand-painted scenes, secret compartments inside.

  • Hand-carved trim & spindles
  • Optional painted-mural insides
  • Hidden drawers & cubbies
  • Heirloom-grade construction

Our cottage story

Two pairs of hands,
one little garden studio

We are Tom and Posy — a husband and wife who fell in love with cabinetmaking, with each other, and with a tumbledown stone cottage in the Cotswolds, more or less in that order.

In 2011 we hung a hand-painted sign on the gate that read Honeysuckle Lane Cabinets, set up two workbenches in the old dairy barn, and started painting little chests for friends. Fourteen years on, we still answer the door together, still drink tea between coats of milk paint, and still leave a pressed wildflower in every drawer.

"We don't make furniture for showrooms. We make it for the morning your daughter pours her first cup of tea from the cabinet you painted while she was learning to walk." — Posy, in the Studio Journal · Spring 2019
